What to use for file replication: application or service?

After the first install of the File/FTP Replication Monitor it is time to choose the way of its using: as an application or as a service. What''s the difference?

If you start File/FTP Replication Monitor as an application there is no difference from starting other applications. Just select "Start executable" menu item.
Another option is to start File/FTP Replication Monitor as a service. Please note that only Windows 7/Vista/XP/2008/2003/2000 support services. Service is started by the operation system not by user. That's why turning on your computer and starting Windows is enough to start File/FTP Replication Monitor as a service. To install it select "Install service" menu item, type your login name and password.

Attention: you must be a computer administrator or user with administrator's permissions.

Start it as an application or as a service

So, what way is the most convenient for you? If you use File/FTP Replication Monitor from time to time there is no need to install service. If it is used regularly service is the best for you.
