FTP server port - enter the port of the remote computer. By default the port number is 21.

User name and Password - enter the name and the password required to access the remote computer into this fields.

To open the dialog box click on the picture button at the end of the address field. It can be a filename or a name of a group of files. Proxy - if you access the Internet over a company network (or Intranet), you may need to specify a firewall (proxy) server in this field (if no proxy is used, leave this field blank). There are lots of firewalls and Network File Monitor Pro supports most of them. The type of firewall can be selected in a Proxy type list . The following command sequences are supported:

1: USER UserName ->  PASS Password

2: USER ProxyUserName -> PASS ProxyPassword -> SITE FTPServer -> USER UserName -> PASS Password

3: USER ProxyUserName -> PASS ProxyPassword -> USER UserName@FTPServer -> PASS Password

4: USER ProxyUserName -> PASS ProxyPassword -> USER UserName -> PASS Password

5: OPEN FTPserver -> USER UserName -> PASS Password

6: USER UserName@FTPServer -> PASS Password

7: USER ProxyUserName@FTPServer -> PASS ProxyPassword -> USER UserName -> PASS Password

8: USER UserName@FTPServer ProxyUserName -> PASS Password

9: USER UserName@ProxyUserName@FTPServer -> PASS Password@ProxyPassword

10: SOCKS4

11: SOCKS5

Please, refer to your firewall server documentation to select the appropriate Proxy type.

Transfer type - the mode using for transferring files:

Auto - all files are transferred in binary mode. If a file matches with a sample listed in a list at the Network settings page the mode is will be transferred in ASCII.

Binary - used for transferring any file except text files.

ASCII - used for text files transferring only.

Security mode - see Secure protocol extension.

Include hidden files - mark this check box to follow changes in hidden files. Some FTP servers do not allow to copy files with the hidden system attributes. To avoid the error messages for such FTPs leave this check box blank.

Delete empty folders - mark this box to allow Network File Monitor Pro to search and delete empty folders (the folders with no files or subfolders inside) after the replication is done.

Content adjustment - mark this box to delete any extra files (which do not exist in the Source folder) from the Destination folder(s) and copy files which do not exist in the Destination folder(s) from Source folder  to the Destination ones, i.e. every Destination folder will be exactly the same as the Source. Content adjustment doesn't affect destination folders if the folder name is in the list of the excluded from replication source folders. Please note if the source and destination roots are different it is necessary to specify full path in the exclude folder list to avoid the destination folder removing.

Translate names (also see Network settings):

the file naming in UNIX/LINUX frequently contains non standard Windows filename characters such as > , < , : , etc. Such files can not be saved on a Windows based computers. You can specify a replacement for this character. For example, a file with the name <File.txt> will have name %3cFile.txt%3e.

Use dial-up - mark this check box if Dial-up extension is used to access the Internet.

Each file transfer (upload or download) needs an additional connection for the data stream. In active mode the server establishes this connection. In passive mode, however, the client establishes the connection. This may be necessary through some firewalls, which do not allow connections from outside.

IPv6 - use advantages of the IPv6 protocol if a remote FTP server supports it.

Keep original file date - provides the ability to set date/time information for a file on the server. Can be applied if the FTP server supports MDTM command.

Convert file name - allows to change a file name case to upper or lower.

Maximum speed field allows to use a bandwidth throttling for a files transfer. Blank or 0 in that field switches off the throttling, any other value limits the maximum speed of the files transfer to the provided value in bytes per second.
