Testing the amount of space on a hard drive

It is possible to use Network File Monitor Pro for monitoring the amount of free or occupied space on hard drives of local or remote computers. To select this function, press the Source type button and select the Disk space item. This will open the new settings window.

Path - enter the path to the root of the tested disk, for example, C:, K: into this field. If you need an occupied space monitoring in a specific folder enter the folder name here. It can be done manually, or via a dialog box. The dialog box will open when you click the button the end of the input field.

 

Monitoring parameter - specifies free disk space or occupied disk space should be followed

 

In the next field it is necessary to enter a minimum amount of free hard drive space (in megabytes) or a maximum permissible size occupied by files. When there's less (more) space then specified, Network File Monitor Pro will start the specified applications (see Launching programs) and dispatch messages (see Dispatch of messages).

Include subfolders - to follow files not in the selected folder only but in the subfolders as well mark this check box. It is possible to specify a list of subfolders separated by ";" in the field below. To create the list click the icon at the end of the field. If all subfolder have to be included leave the field blank.

 

Include files - enter the name of the monitored files separated by ";" into this field. It can be done manually, and it is also possible to use the dialog box to select the files. To open the dialog box click on the picture button at the end of the address field. It can be a filename or a name of a group of files. It is possible to use the "*" and "?" characters in filenames (for example, *.txt; A???.*)

 

Extended filter - the additional settings which allow to select the files by size or date.

 

Exclude folders - you can set the list of folders excluded from monitoring separated by ";" in this field. It can be done manually, and it is also possible to use the dialog box to select the files. To open the dialog box click on the picture button at the end of the address field.
