Content  Previous  Next

Time synchronization extension allows to synchronize computer's clock with Atomic Clock Servers. You may ask Network File Monitor Pro to check time regular in specified time periods and adjust your clock automatically or do it yourself when you feel you need to. Extension uses SNTP protocol (Simple Network Time Protocol) and requires connection to Internet.

Extension settings:

Time server - name and address of a time server user for time. List of time servers is stored in TimeSync.dat file which is located in the extension folder. File content can be updated manually by any text editor

Active - check this box to permit time synchronization.

Adjust computer time every ... hours - specify a period between time adjustments.

Adjust only minutes and seconds - this option allows to ignore the hours in the inaccuracy if Windows does not support Daylight time or does it incorrectly.

Socks settings - should be filled if a socks proxy is used to access Internet.

Sync now - press this button to adjust time manually.

Connection behind a firewall

Some firewalls do to allow SNTP protocol by default. In that case you will need to configure your firewall to allow IP/UDP outbound packets to port 123, and inbound IP/UDP packets from port 123.

The following firewall incoming packet filter rule will allow extension to operate using the SNTP protocol while maintaining the security of your site:
